WANTED!!

Arleigh Burke DDG-51 Division

 Future Leaders

Welcome

The Arleigh Burke DDG-51 Division is named for the U.S. Navy's Guided Missle Destroyer. We conduct our drills at the American Legion Post 145 375 South State Road 267  Avon, Indiana 46123. Visitors are encouraged to attend; check our Calendar for the next drill.

The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps has been in existence since 1958, when it was formed at the request of the Department of the Navy and the Navy League of the United States. Support for our organization was mandated into Public Law by the Congress of the United States in 1963. Our program’s four key pillars are the development of leadership, responsibility, patriotism, and service to others for young men and women aged 10-18. We also stress academic achievement, and maintaining a drug-free, gang-free lifestyle. Members of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps are authorized to wear Navy uniforms, suitably modified with flashes identifying them as cadets.

Our cadets participate in parades and other similar events, receive physical fitness training, complete official US Navy correspondence courses, attend hands-on advanced trainings during the summer months on more than 70 different subjects, and are active in many areas of community service in the Hendricks County and Indianapolis areas. We drill at the American Legion Post 145 on South State Road 267 Avon, IN on every 2 full weekend of each month.

The impact our program has on young men and women is tremendous, and far-reaching. The opportunity to watch them enter the program and grow in confidence and ability over the years is deeply fulfilling. Our cadets, upon graduation, are more mature, confident, and ready to excel as informed, contributing members of our society.

The U.S. Navy Sea Cadet Corps and the U.S. Navy League Cadet Corps are part of a non-profit American Youth Organization.
